Jerry Jones Shares Emotional Message with Struggling Dallas Cowboys

After the Dallas Cowboys’ 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, which dropped the team to 3-5 on the season, owner Jerry Jones shared a heartfelt message to fans in the wake of the defeat. This loss marked Dallas’ third consecutive setback, diminishing their hopes of making a significant late-season push.

To make matters worse, star quarterback Dak Prescott suffered multiple injuries during the game, leaving the Cowboys searching for alternatives. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb also went down late in the fourth quarter, adding to the mounting challenges for Dallas.

Despite these setbacks, Jones sought to uplift the fans and the team, delivering a message of hope. “I really regret this for all of our Dallas Cowboys fans,” the 82-year-old owner said. He continued, recalling past struggles and comebacks, including one involving Michael Irvin.

“I’ve seen Michael Irvin tear up and cry when he couldn’t lose anybody because he’s just recovering from knee surgery. Yet his — came back and led the team to three Super Bowls.” Jones remained confident in the current roster, saying, “That room’s full of guys that can get it done. I believe in ’em, coaches and all.”

However, history presents a tough challenge. The Cowboys have only made the playoffs once after starting the season with a 3-5 record, achieving that feat in 2018 after acquiring Amari Cooper via trade.

Guard Zack Martin, one of five players remaining from that 2018 squad, expressed belief that a similar turnaround is possible but stressed that it starts with the players themselves. “Absolutely that’s what we want to do,” Martin said about making the playoffs. “It’s right back to work and we just got to get our confidence back and go in there with some swag and expect to win.”

Martin emphasized that the team must take responsibility for their performance and execute better moving forward. “We’ve got the guys in here,” he added. “We’ve just got to take ownership of this thing as players, and we’ve got to go out there and execute plays better.

We can’t beat ourselves and put ourselves in a hole. Our margin for error is too small for that. Back to work. And everything we still want to do is in front of us, right? We’ve got a lot of division games coming up, and we’ve got to get one and get on a roll.”

While Martin remained optimistic about the team’s prospects, Prescott, sidelined with injuries, was seen offering a blunt critique of the Cowboys’ performance against the Falcons. In a candid moment caught on camera, Prescott was heard saying, “We ——- suck.”
