Manchester United want to increase offer for Mason Mount

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to increase their offer for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

That’s according to the Mirror’s David McDonnell, who reported that the Red Devils’ Chelsea are likely to make a £50m take-it-or-leave-it bid for England Mount.

Mount, 24, has failed to extend his contract and is now a candidate to leave Stamford Bridge, despite having been with the club his entire career and his contract expires around this time next year, knowing the midfielder is one of his most valuable players.

As a result, the Blues’ number 19 could be sold before the start of next season, and while Liverpool were keen to attract the 24-year-old to Merseyside, Erik Ten Hag’s Red Devils have recently emerged as favourites.

And according to McDonnell, the 20 league winners are set to raise their offer to £50m, having already bid £40m for the zealous playmaker and been rejected.

Since his senior debut in 2019, Mount, who has 36 senior caps, has scored 33 goals and provided 37 assists in 195 appearances in all competitions.
