Marcus Rashford is at verge of signing a new £100 million contract to become Manchester United’s highest-paid player.

England star Rasford has a year left on his current deal but is set to sign an extension which will see him earn nearly £375,000 a week

Marcus Rashford is set to agree a new contract extension with Manchester United worth nearly £100m.
The United striker has one year left on his current contract but it is understood he is ready to sign a new deal worth around £375,000 a week.

Rashford’s new contract reflects his rise to become one of United’s most important players. The 25-year-old scored a career-high for the club with 30 goals last term – a notable turnaround from the previous season when he netted just five times.

Those 30 goals and 11 assists helped United to third place and an immediate return to the Champions League, ending the club’s six-year wait for a Carabao Cup trophy.

The England star had attracted interest from Paris St Germain, but Rashford’s intention has always been to stay at United and continue his key role in Erik ten Hag’s revival of the fallen giants.

A new No.9 is high on Ten Hag’s transfer wishlist, along with a host of names associated with Old Trafford, including England captain Harry Kane.

Tottenham are unlikely to allow Kane into a Premier League rival while Victor Osimhen, Rasmus Hojlund and Randal Kolo Muani have all emerged as alternatives.

Ten Hag is also in contention for a new No.1 as De Gea looks set to be knocked out after 12 seasons at Old Trafford. Last season he won the Golden Glove, awarded to the goalkeeper with the most goals conceded in the Premier League, but his season has been marred by a series of spectacular and costly individual errors.

United were already looking for a replacement for De Gea, with Everton and England’s Jordan Pickford, Porto and Portugal regular Diogo Costa and Inter Milan’s Cameroon centre-back Andre Onana all on their shortlist.
