Manchester United Transfer Target Sofyan Amrabat is also courted by Liverpool, with the Reds set to lose the services of Fabinho and the club Captain Jordan Henderson
Sofyan Amrabat clearly indicated that this summer, he does not want to join Liverpool because he is broadcast by Manchester United.
The 26-year-old Amrabat was courted by several European elites since he impressed the semi-final of the World Cup in the historic series of Morocco in 2022 and is expected to continue in the Fiorentina summer transfer window.
The coveted playmaker has qualities that would make him an ideal attack for Liverpool, which should lose the services of Fabinho and the captain of the Jordan Henderson club in the coming weeks. However, it seems that Jürgen Klopp is forced to look at the midfielder elsewhere.
According to Corriere della will be via GFNI, Amrabat has already rejected Liverpool’s progress in favor of Manchester United, for which he has already agreed to be signed for the signature. Amrabat has been at Fiorentina since 2020 but the Italian side are ready to cash in on his midfield talisman this summer – provided one of his admirers is willing to pay the €30m (£25.8m) asking price.
And while Manchester United’s current priority is to secure a new No9 ahead of the new Premier League season, Erik ten Hag is said to be keen to add another midfielder to his squad in the final weeks of the transfer window if the club can find additional funds by sacking several fringe players.
Ten Hag is more than aware of Amrabat’s qualities, given that the Fiorentina ace rose through the ranks of his career at FC Utrecht when the Dutchman was at the top. United have already splashed around £60m on Mason Mount to bolster their midfield options.
Despite intense transfer speculation, Fiorentina chief executive Joe Barone revealed last week that no one had offered a concrete offer for Amrabat’s services. And Barone urged the midfielder to stay focused ahead of the start of the new Serie A season, as there has been little movement about his future.
Earlier this month, Barone told Sky Sport Italia: “He [Amrabat] is also very attached to the team and me too, we speak English and we speak almost every day. At the moment nothing official has arrived yet, I told him to come here concentrated because he is a Fiorentina player.
“He has to have his head here and be ready for the start of the competition, and if something happens, we’ll evaluate it. We already have a very strong division in midfield.”
