According to Fabrizio Romano. Midfielder who cost £77 million will not be joining Liverpool now

There’s no way Liverpool will sign Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde in this summer’s transfer window.

There were rumors that Liverpool were planning to leave Valverde following Jude Bellingham’s arrival at Madrid. The Uruguayan seems to be a perfect match for what Jurgen Klopp needs right now.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano responded to the rumors on his YouTube channel last night. Unfortunately, this is not good news for Reds fans. “There are so many questions for Fede Valverde”, began Romano.

“I don’t know where these rumors are coming from, but I have been told that Fede Valverde is 100% behind Real Madrid’s plans and that Real Madrid have no intention of letting him go.

“So, Valverde and Real Madrid intend to continue together, despite the rumors about Liverpool or another club.”

Valverde’s dream is not coming true

There’s no big surprise here. The stories linking Valverde to Liverpool never came from the in the know most of the time.
For example, if Romano starts changing his tune, then we might start to think there might be something to it.

But for now, the prospect of the 24-year-old moving from the Bernabeu to Anfield seems like pure fantasy.

We could forgive those who lent the story, as it would be a great addition indeed. Physical, versatile, technical, capable of scoring: Valverde has everything a modern midfielder needs.

At the moment, Jordan Henderson is often asked to do many of these things at Liverpool. He has to play right midfield, right wing and a number 10 role all rolled into one. With all due respect to the captain who is doing a good job, he is not the ideal man for the job. Valverde really could be.

For a transfer fee of around £77m, he would be a huge signing. But it also looks like a bargain for a player of his age and potential.

We’d still like to keep an eye on the Uruguay international’s situation at Madrid.

With such a stacked midfield, he can suddenly be out of the squad or constantly play in the wrong position. Valverde is so good it’s worth the wait. For now, however, it’s time to let it go. He’s not coming to Liverpool.
