Arsenal look to strengthen in one position this summer, perhaps suggesting that Mikel Arteta doesn’t trust one of his players.
Arsenal could be looking for a new addition during the summer transfer window at the Emirates Stadium, with Mikel Arteta perhaps not trusting one of his players, reporter Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT.
Edu Gaspar and Arteta have made some crucial reinforcements so far, but their spending could continue in the coming weeks.
Arsenal Transfer News – Latest
Thus far, the Gunners have brought in Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice, who have strengthened themselves in defense, midfield and offense.
The North London club lost their Premier League title to Manchester City so additions were needed for the new season. Arsenal sat out the Champions League last season and after finishing in the top four they now need to build a team capable of competing both domestically and in Europe’s biggest club competition.
Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth recently told GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal could be looking to sign a new signing on the right in attack this summer.
Sheth adds that the Gunners have tried to strengthen this area of the pitch over the last three transfer windows.
Bukayo Saka is unlikely to be pushed out of Arteta’s starting XI but creating more competition in this area and rotating and resting the England international could be a smart move for the Premier League outfit.
What did Jones say about Arsenal? Jones has suggested he doesn’t believe Arsenal fully trust Reiss Nelson, who earns £100,000 a week at the Emirates.
The journalist adds that Arteta could try to bring in another player to compete with him during the summer transfer market.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “Reiss Nelson did a good job coming in at certain points last season. Personally, I’m not sure they fully trust him to compete exactly when needed.
“Their big concern will be that if they get seriously injured somewhere, he’s going to end up playing a lot of games. “So maybe they don’t even care if Reiss Nelson plays a game or two, it’s because they want a challenger to match him when there are more games to play.”
Who could Arsenal sign on the right in attack?
It could be difficult for Arsenal’s recruitment team to convince a player to compete with Saka who has excelled since his academy training.
Florian Plettenberg recently claimed that Arsenal, along with Newcastle United and Manchester United, could be in the running to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby this summer, which could cost around £69million.
Elsewhere, MailOnline have claimed Mohammed Kudus is another option for the capital club.
Although not a born right winger, Kudus is perfectly capable of playing in this position and covering elsewhere. Football Insider has also claimed that Arsenal are monitoring Raphinha’s availability.
There are certainly plenty of options for the Gunners this summer as they look to build a deeper, more complete roster.
