Ahead of the new Premier League season, Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has admitted he is in pain.
Gunners fans worried about the Brazilian’s outburst can be reassured that he was simply referring to his struggle to regain fitness following his knee injury.
Towards the end of the 2022-23 season, the striker proved he has lost none of his attacking instincts, and once they find the best level of him, Arsenal still have a fine sharpshooter in their midst.
“Compared to my foot injury in 2017, it is very different. This is my first knee injury and I hope it will be the last,” he said during a press conference with Mikel Arteta before Arsenal’s match against Barcelona. “Now I suffer a little more from my foot. It has been difficult. I work hard to get back in shape and come back strong.”
