Christopher Nkunku sends a two-word message to Chelsea while behind-the-scenes video from Newcastle surfaces.

Chelsea news: the Blues defeated the Magpies in a much-needed victory that increased their prospects of winning a trophy this year.

A memorable evening took place at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea defeated a formidable Newcastle United team to secure their spot in the Carabao Cup semi-final.

The Magpies’ Callum Wilson beat Djordje Petrovic with a beautiful shot after just 15 minutes of play thanks to a mistake at the back by defender Benoit Badiashile. Despite dominating the game the entire time, the Blues were behind 1-0.

Following that, Chelsea had several opportunities, but Bruno Guimaraes cleared Raheem Sterling’s attempt off the line, and Conor Gallagher struck the crossbar. The breakthrough for the Blues would not come for nearly the whole second half, but it did come.

Kieran Trippier was unable to head Malo Gusto’s deep cross clear, which allowed Mykhailo Mudryk to go by him at the backpost and score the equaliser. Due to the goal, the match had to be decided by penalties. Both teams were in great position when Trippier took the spot and missed it, giving Chelsea the advantage.

To the delight of the crowd, debutant Christopher Nkunku scored first, setting up goals from Guimaraes and Mudryk so that Matt Ritchie would have to score to keep Newcastle’s chances alive. But Petrovic gloved the ball well enough to advance the Blues to the semi-finals, where they will take on either Middlesbrough of the Championship or Fulham, West Ham or Liverpool.

The Blues, who advanced to the Carabao Cup final in 2021/22, but lost to Liverpool at Wembley, will now be playing in their second semifinal in as many seasons.

But now, under manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has emphasised both Petrovic and Nkunku as summer additions who are having an impression at Chelsea, they have the opportunity to take home their first trophy.

“We are talking about players that are young, players that arrive and suffer an injury, disturbed,” he stated at the news conference held after the game. They now get to know the team and the opposition. To get the ideal form, they require time to begin performing.

That is, there are instances when anybody may judge you—sure, you’re going to perform, but what matters most is how? The issue is that we need time for Nkunku to perform to our expectations because we want to see the best of him.

Being accessible is one thing, but meeting our expectations for performance is another. He is under too much pressure from us to support the squad in the manner we anticipate, therefore we are constantly pressuring him to show up as quickly as possible.”

Before returning through the tunnel and into the dressing room, the players celebrated by making a lap of the pitch to applaud the thousands of fans who had stayed around after the final whistle. The vice captain exclaimed, “Woohoo!” as the lengthy queue of players and their responses were captured on the club’s social media. Axel Disasi and Ben Chilwell were also seen rejoicing in front of the camera.

Then, striker Nicolas Jackson pointed some tiger claws in the direction of the camera, and Mudryk just nodded his head and grinned before signing a summer contract. Together with Chelsea full-back Malo Gusto, Nkunku exclaimed, “Let’s go!” Malo Gusto added, “Lets go man!”
