Deion Sanders responds to rumors about becoming Dallas Cowboys head coach

Deion Sanders

As the Dallas Cowboys endure a challenging season, head coach Mike McCarthy is facing increasing pressure, with many speculating about who will replace him after his contract ends.

Among the top contenders to take over is Bill Belichick, but Colorado football coach and former Cowboys star Deion Sanders is also frequently mentioned as a possibility.

Currently leading the Buffaloes to one of their best seasons in years, Coach Prime was asked about potentially stepping into the Dallas role.

During a conversation with fellow Cowboys legend Michael Irvin on FS1’s *Speak* Tuesday, Sanders downplayed any interest in the job.

“You’re encouraging people to be better than they really are [in Colorado], and can I segue with that because no place needs people to encourage people to be better than they really are besides Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys,” Irvin said.

Deion responded, “Oh Lord, don’t start that. I love it where I am.”

Under Sanders’ leadership, Colorado boasts a 7-2 record this season and is currently ranked second in the Big 12.

In contrast, the Cowboys sit at 3-6 for the year and will look to spark some life in Week 11 against the Houston Texans.

The New Orleans Saints’ Seventh Straight Loss Results in Dennis Allen’s Firing

The New Orleans Saints endured their seventh consecutive defeat, falling 22-23 to the Carolina Panthers, which led to the firing of head coach Dennis Allen. After Week 9, the Saints, sitting at the bottom of the NFC South with a 2-7 record, parted ways with Allen, who had been in his third season as head coach.

As reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Allen was dismissed after leading the team to a losing record of 18-25 and failing to reach the playoffs. Allen had previously served as the defensive coordinator under Sean Payton from 2015 to 2021. Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi will take over as interim head coach.

The Saints began the season strong with a 2-0 record, including a dominant win over the Dallas Cowboys (44-19), but a seven-game losing streak culminated in their latest defeat to the Panthers.

Mike McCarthy Safe in Dallas Despite Struggles

In contrast, the Dallas Cowboys have yet to make a coaching change, even as they face a three-game losing streak. Despite growing fan dissatisfaction, including calls for a coaching change, team owner Jerry Jones is sticking with head coach Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys, who had high hopes at the start of the season, now find themselves with a 3-5 record, significantly lowering their playoff chances.

The team’s struggles have been compounded by issues with key players such as Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, as well as recent indiscipline from Ezekiel Elliott. Injuries to defensive stars like Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence have further hampered the Cowboys’ performance, leaving the team struggling to find solutions
