Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move to Romeo Lavia this summer and the midfielder has reportedly already spoken to Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to bolster their midfield, but they’re not done yet: they need at least one more player in the middle of the park.
Southampton’s Lavia would be a target and journalist Sacha Tavolieri claimed on Twitter that the youngster had already been in talks with Klopp about a possible move to Liverpool in the coming weeks.
Romeo Lavia has already spoken to Jürgen Klopp and wants to go to Liverpool
Liverpool’s top priority these days has been to strengthen their midfield, and they already have.
Mac Allister and Szoboszlai are excellent signings for the Reds, but they are both offensive players. The next midfielder needs to be more of a number six and Lavia fulfills that purpose perfectly.
The teenager had a great season at Southampton last time out. He was arguably their best player and Sky Sports revealed last week that Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool were all interested in the £50m midfielder.
Tavolieri has now claimed that Lavia and Klopp have already discussed the move and the midfielder is keen to join the club from Anfield in the coming weeks.
He tweeted:
“I have been told Liverpool FC will await Jordan Henderson’s final words on Al Ettifaq FC before making the first offer for Romeo Lavia.” The Belgian player has spoken to Jürgen Klopp and wants to play for the Reds.
“The reds really believe he’s definitely a great prospect for the future and were waiting to make room in midfield to make a step forward. Personal conditions are no longer a problem.”
A potential replacement for Jordan Henderson
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia to join his old friend Steven Gerrard this summer.
The Athletic claimed last night that Al Ettifaq had made him a life-changing offer that would see him quadruple his current salary at Anfield.
The report says Henderson is keen to move to Saudi Arabia. If he leaves, Liverpool will need a replacement and Lavia would be an attractive option.
It will be interesting to see what happens at Liverpool in the coming days.
