Arsenal are currently in a three-way battle to sign Romeo Lavia. The Southampton midfielder was their rough diamond last season in the Premier League.
Not playing league football, which Lavia is too good for at his age, it is believed the midfielder would like to move to the Premier League.

However, Lavia is not high on Arsenal’s to-do list. First, they want to sign deals for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.
Both of these players have been in the pipeline for some time and efforts to secure these deals will soon be ramped up. With them safe, Mikel Arteta can turn his attention to Lavia. Lavia is likely to directly replace Thomas Partey.
The 19-year-old is already becoming an expert at playing in midfield. He holds defense well and has long range, making him an ideal candidate to replace Partey if he is sold.
Arsenal’s midfield could be very different next season. However, this is the part of the court that Mikel Arteta most needed to tighten going forward. Replacing the aging midfielders with younger alternatives will serve Arteta well as he builds his blueprint for the future in north London.
However, Arsenal may need to act quickly if they are in the market for Romeo Lavia. We revealed today that Liverpool intend to open the match for Lavia, the first club to do so. Therefore, if Arteta is to fulfill the player’s wishes, he must also get to work.
