Chelsea to consider proposals for a £28.5 million player in a surprising development

In a somewhat unexpected development, Chelsea is allegedly going to take bids for one player during the last few weeks of the summer transfer season.

In these last few weeks and days of the transfer window, a lot may happen, and Chelsea is expected to be one of the busier teams in the market, especially when it comes to outbound transactions.

The first team is still practicing with a sizable roster every day at Cobham, and Enzo Maresca, the new head coach, will hopefully want to see that significantly reduced as soon as possible.

In what could turn out to be a bit of a player exodus, Chelsea is willing to let go of quite a few players by the end of this transfer window.

Madueke is up for sale

According to The Athletic, Chelsea is reportedly open to receiving bids for Noni Madueke that surpass the £28.5 million that PSV Eindhoven paid to acquire him in January 2023.

And this is even though, according to the study, Madueke is Chelsea’s most productive winger who isn’t Cole Palmer.

Given that Madueke looked like a lock both last season and this one, it is a bit of a surprise and a turn of events that he is for sale. You would have thought Chelsea would want to maintain him as strong competition even if he wasn’t going to start. However, if this story is accurate, it appears that raising money is now more crucial.
