Manchester United have already farewell  several stars this summer with Cristiano Ronaldo at the center of a reunion at Saudi club Al-Nassr, while Erik ten Hag continues to cut his clothes

Manchester United have confirmed Alex Telles has left the club for Al-Nassr as he reunites with Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Brazilian, who arrived from Porto in the summer of 2020, was not part of Erik ten Hag’s plans for next season. He didn’t show up on the first day of pre-season as he was looking to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

His £4m move to Al-Nassr is now complete as he becomes the latest star to move to the Gulf state this summer. Telles is leaving after just 30 Premier League appearances before joining Sevilla on loan last season. It has been reported that Ronaldo was a driving force behind Al-Nassr’s move for Telles as he tried to help the club win the Saudi league title. They were close last season but could only finish second and five points behind eventual champions Al-Ittihad.

Telles’ move also represents the next step in a major player overhaul at Old Trafford under current boss Erik ten Hag. A number of players have already been released at the end of their contracts, including Axel Tuanzebe, Phil Jones and David de Gea.

The exits aren’t expected to stop there either, with five other first-team stars linked with the departures. Telles’ compatriot Fred is attracting interest at Fulham and it is understood United are open to a move.

Academy graduates Anthony Elanga and Dean Henderson could also end their collaboration with the Red Devils. The latter spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest and has long been touted for a return to the City Ground.

He is set to be joined by Swedish winger Anthony Elanga, who is set to make a £15million move to the East Midlands. The Daily Mail reports that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs as he will undergo a medical at his new employer on Monday. It could also be that some defenders leave before the end of the transfer window. Eric Bailly has no future with the Red Devils after his loan to Marseille.

Saudi clubs have shown tentative interest in signing the Ivorian, while Spanish side Real Betis have also been linked with a push.

The final farewell may well see former club captain Harry Maguire leave. Maguire, still the most expensive defender in world football, had to watch his captaincy cut ahead of the new season. This happens after falling the hack rules under Erik Ten Hag in the last quarter. Premier League clubs were associated with a stage for him, notably Tottenham and West Ham.
