Detroit Lions are poised to bring back most of their starting roster for the 2025 NFL season.
As the NFL offseason begins, the Lions are focusing on maintaining continuity across most of their starting positions, thanks to a core of key players under contract through 2025. After claiming back-to-back NFC North titles in 2024 and setting a franchise record with 15 regular-season wins, the team’s playoff run ended in disappointment with a divisional-round loss to the Washington Commanders.
However, tough decisions lie ahead, especially with impending free agents such as Levi Onwuzurike (defensive tackle), Carlton Davis (cornerback), and Kevin Zeitler (right guard). The Lions currently have a $46.8 million cap space available for 2025, according to OverTheCap.com, but are expected to have much less financial flexibility in 2026, as some key players have recently been handed contract extensions.
