Detroit Lions standout cornerback Terrion Arnold had an unexpected fall

Detroit Lions standout cornerback Terrion Arnold had an unexpected fall—but it wasn’t on the football field.

The 21-year-old Florida native shared a video on his X account Thursday, capturing a mishap at his home where he slips down a flight of stairs.

In the footage, Arnold, holding his phone, is seen walking down the stairs before his foot slips, sending him crashing onto his back. His phone flies out of his hand as he tumbles the entire flight, eventually landing at the bottom and sitting for a few moments. The video cuts out shortly after.

“Had a rough morning,” the 21-year-old captioned the clip, accompanied by some crying-laughing emojis.

The post garnered 1.6 million views and over 33,000 likes on X, with fans in the comments joining Arnold in laughter over the fall.

One user shared a screenshot of Arnold sitting at the bottom of the stairs, looking as if he was reflecting on what just happened, captioning it: “bro had enough.”

Another commenter noticed Arnold’s reaction while sliding down, noting, “The way you looked back for your phone as you were sliding down,” and adding a skull emoji.

A fan also expressed concern for the rookie’s safety, urging him to be cautious with his phone for the team’s sake.

“Major player, please refrain from playing on your phone when you’re walking around, we don’t ever want to lose you to a misstep,” they wrote. “Dear Lord, please keep our finely tuned star DB safe from his surroundings. We love him.”

Arnold, who was an All-American defensive back at the University of Alabama, was selected by Detroit in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. The rookie chose No. 0 for his jersey, explaining to ESPN, “ain’t nobody like me.”

He quickly became a key player for the Lions, helping the team secure a franchise-record 15-2 record and the NFC’s No. 1 seed—another first for the franchise. However, their memorable season ended last week with a loss to Washington in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Detroit Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams is reportedly set to take on the role of defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots.

Williams previously worked under Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, spending six years on Vrabel’s staff with the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023 before joining the Lions. He then served as the defensive line coach for the Detroit Lions during the 2024 season.

The Lions are facing significant staffing changes for next season, as the team is also set to lose both of its coordinators. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has been hired as the new head coach of the Chicago Bears, while defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn will become the head coach of the New York Jets, according to reports.

On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell shared his expectation that the team would lose both coordinators to head coaching positions.
