A documentary about the Dallas Cowboys is currently being developed for Netflix.
Netflix is collaborating with Skydance Sports and NFL Films to create a new sports docuseries focused on the Dallas Cowboys.
The series will be directed by Chapman Way and Maclain Way, the duo behind Untold, who will also serve as executive producers. They will be joined by Keith Cossrow, Ross Ketover, Ken Rodgers from NFL Films, as well as David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, Jon Weinbach from Skydance Sports, and John Skipper from Meadowlark Media as executive producers.
This marks the second documentary centered on the Dallas Cowboys, following the release of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in June 2024. That series has already been renewed for a second season.

The docuseries will provide a comprehensive look at the Dallas Cowboys’ recent history, particularly from 1989, when Jerry Jones bought the team. Jones remains the president and general manager of the franchise today. In 1992, the Cowboys won their first Super Bowl in 14 years at Super Bowl XXVII, followed by another victory in Super Bowl XXVIII against the Buffalo Bills. Two years later, they claimed their third title in four years with a Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, marking their fifth Super Bowl championship.

After a period of remarkable success in the 1990s, the Cowboys have struggled to replicate that level of achievement in the 21st century, with no Super Bowl appearances since their last victory in 1996. In 2023, the Cowboys were valued at $9 billion, making them the most valuable sports team globally, and their worth surpassed $10 billion in 2024.

Despite being the world’s most valuable team and continually investing in its infrastructure, talent, coaching, and management, the Cowboys have yet to see those investments translate into on-field success.
