Galatasaray’s offer for a South American talent is rejected by Manchester United

Galatasaray have bid rejected by Manchester United for Brazilian midfielder Fred Manchester United have rejected an offer from Galatasaray to acquire the services of Fred in the ongoing transfer window, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Turkish giants are interested in getting a hold of the Brazil international this summer. To that end, the Super Lig outfit have approached the Red Devils to sign the midfielder.

However, the Istanbul-based club’s first bid for the 30-year-old was not up to the Old Trafford side’s expectations. As such, they will have to make another proposal to get him. Fred is expected to leave United in the coming weeks.

Galatasaray are not the only team eyeing him. Fulham and other Premier League clubs also have the Brazilian on their radar, while he is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.

In the summer of 2018, the Red Devils signed the midfielder from Shakhtar Donetsk. Over the years, the 30-year-old has been ever-present in the Old Trafford side’s first-team setup.

However, Fred has lost his place in the starting lineup since the arrival of Erik ten Hag. Last season, the Brazilian started in just 12 matches in the English top flight. Christian Eriksen and Casemiro were added to United’s ranks last summer.

The Dutch manager preferred the Denmark and Brazil internationals in the team over the other options in the middle of the park. We have now also got Mason Mount at our disposal. Therefore, it seems like Fred’s time at the club is nearing its conclusion.

Ten Hag can also call upon Scott McTominay in the engine room. The Scotland international has been a backup under the new gaffer as well but is younger than the Brazilian. Therefore, it is evidently wiser to move on from the 30-year-old.

However, whether Galatasaray will be able to beat the other teams in the pursuit of the midfielder remains to be seen.
