Jerry Jones responds angrily to question about sun glare at AT&T Stadium following Cowboys’ defeat

Jerry Jones and Cowboys view Micah Parsons as a key part of their future

Jerry Jones’ recent media outburst centered around a setting sun—how fitting.

Following the Dallas Cowboys’ 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb explained that a missed pass occurred due to the glare from the sun shining through AT&T Stadium’s windows, which made it difficult for him to track the ball.

Lamb’s reaction after the drop, which occurred during a pass from quarterback Cooper Rush in the end zone, suggested the sun was the primary cause.

“Couldn’t see the ball. Couldn’t see the ball, at all,” Lamb told reporters. “The sun.”

Lamb also expressed his strong support for installing curtains, saying he was “one thousand percent” in favor. However, Jones quickly dismissed the idea when questioned about the possibility of adding shades.

“Well let’s tear the damn stadium down and build another one?” Jones responded sarcastically. “Are you kidding me?”

The setting sun has caused problems for teams during late-afternoon games in Arlington, Texas, in the past. However, Jones claimed that the Cowboys have the situation under control.

“By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not,” Jones said. “We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium.”

“Everybody has got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues.”

Saints dismiss Dennis Allen, while Cowboys fans urge Jerry Jones to part ways with Mike McCarthy

As the trade deadline approached last week, there was some speculation surrounding the possibility of the Dallas Cowboys trading Micah Parsons. However, this speculation was unfounded, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made it clear that Parsons is an essential part of the team’s future.

“No, absolutely not,” Jones stated on 105.3 The Fan when asked if the team had ever considered trading Parsons.

Parsons, who leads the team in pressures despite having been sidelined since Week 4 against the Giants, is expected to return to action this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Jones emphasized that he wants Parsons to remain with the team for the long haul.

“I wouldn’t because we want Micah Parsons, he’s integral to our future,” Jones explained when asked about the possibility of moving Parsons. “So ‘no’ is the big answer.”

This sentiment is shared by Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones and vice president of player personnel Will McClay, both of whom play key roles in decision-making for the team.

“We haven’t had one conversation, ever, about not having Micah Parsons on the team, ever,” Jones said.

With the trade rumors put to rest, Parsons and the Cowboys are now focused on snapping a three-game losing streak and securing their first home win of the 2024 season. When Parsons is cleared to return to the field, he won’t be limited by any sort of pitch count.

“Once I’m playing, I’m playing, that’s just the competitor in me…” Parsons said. “It’s hard to restrain that.”
