South Carolina women’s basketball commit Jerzy Robinson delivered a statement performance at the 2026 Nike Hoop Summit on Saturday night, bouncing back emphatically after a quiet showing at the McDonald’s All American Game just days earlier.
Robinson finished with 19 points — tied for the game high — along with three rebounds and two assists, helping Team USA cruise to a commanding 104-77 victory over Team World. The win extended Team USA’s unbeaten run in the event to four straight.
“It’s the biggest honor,” Robinson said postgame to NBC Sports sideline reporter Caroline Pineda. “I thank God for this blessing.”
The top-ranked prospect wasted no time making her mark, converting an early tip-in to get on the board and never looking back. Despite picking up two fouls in the opening stages, Robinson was aggressive and engaged throughout, mixing a behind-the-back interior pass with a contested three-pointer to demonstrate her versatility across all three levels of the court.
Robinson headed into halftime with 10 points, one of only two players in double figures at the break. Team USA held a commanding 23-point advantage at halftime, a cushion that Robinson credited with allowing her to play freely and with confidence.
Her third quarter was particularly impressive — Robinson led all Team USA scorers with six points in the period, continuing to exploit mid-range opportunities with ease. She finished 4-of-6 from the free-throw line, though her overall field goal efficiency settled at 40 percent for the night.
Robinson also showed a willingness to absorb contact in the paint, though it came at a cost — she was forced to the bench briefly before halftime after hitting the floor hard on a drive. She returned without missing a beat.
With the victory secured, Robinson had a clear message for fans back in Columbia.
“I’m coming to tear up the city. Let’s do it,” she said.
Robinson becomes the second South Carolina commit to suit up for Team USA at the Nike Hoop Summit, following Joyce Edwards in 2024. Edwards set the women’s event record with 25 points and nine rebounds in her own dominant showing. South Carolina’s connection to the event runs deeper still — freshman Ayla McDowell scored a team-high 15 points for Team World’s Brazil squad in 2025, competing alongside fellow Gamecock Agot Makeer, who represented Canada. Madina Okot, who would go on to sign with Mississippi State, represented Kenya during the inaugural 2023 women’s event.
For Robinson, though, the night was about far more than statistics. It was a declaration of intent ahead of her arrival in Columbia.
