Kelly, Matthew Stafford’s wife, might have subtly issued a warning to the Rams amid trade speculation and Cooper Kupp updates

In a live update on the latest Detroit Lions and Rams news, Kelly Stafford, wife of quarterback Matthew Stafford, continues to make waves on social media with her outspoken remarks. Having covered the Lions for over a decade, including plenty of stories surrounding Matthew, fans in Detroit are no strangers to Kelly’s candid presence online. Known for her unfiltered commentary, Kelly has even apologized publicly in the past for some of her more controversial statements.

Since Matthew was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, Kelly has kept fans engaged by launching her own podcast, The Morning After. Over the course of her podcast and social media posts, she has gone viral for a variety of reasons— from discussing dating Stafford’s backup quarterback during his time at Georgia to claiming that Lions fans booed her children at Ford Field last year.

But now, Kelly is raising eyebrows again, this time with a seemingly pointed message aimed at the Rams amid trade rumors surrounding Matthew, especially after the news that star receiver Cooper Kupp could also be traded.

In a recent statement, Kelly said, “I love the life that we have built here. With that being said, I love an adventure. I am all for it right now. If you know the Rams decided that they wanted to trade him, or Matthew decided he didn’t want to play for the Rams. I’m good. Move my family, yeah, that might be tough. First month, hard. Okay, after that, I like my kids to learn how to be resilient. Yeah, and moving them is not easy, and it’ll be hard. But I also have four girls who have four built-in, best friends, so it ain’t that difficult.”

She went on to emphasize her personal values, stating, “I value being respected and wanted over convenience. So it would be very convenient to stay right, very easy. But if someone doesn’t feel valued, then I’m like, let’s go on an adventure. Turns out like, if I have my husband and my kids, I’m good. I don’t need anything else again.”

While Kelly acknowledged that the Staffords would prefer to stay in Los Angeles, she made it clear that the decision isn’t ultimately in their hands. She reiterated that her husband is driven by a desire to win, and questioned the Rams’ decision to potentially trade Kupp after a season in which they were, in her words, “a play away from going to the NFC Championship.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Matthew’s future with the Rams, Kelly’s openness to “an adventure” could suggest that the family is prepared for change. With the Staffords expressing their concerns over the potential trade of Kupp, it’s possible this situation might prompt Matthew to request a trade himself.

As we await further developments, one thing is certain: the Stafford family isn’t shy about embracing whatever comes next. Keep tuned for more updates as this story unfolds.
