Liverpool approach club over potential £50m transfer

Liverpool have reportedly approached Southampton over the potential £50million transfer of Belgian prodigy Romeo Lavia.

The 19-year-old made a huge impression in the Premier League last season, although his performances alone weren’t enough to help Saints avoid relegation to the Championship.

It makes sense that clubs could now try to restore Lavia to the top this summer, as he is surely too good to play in the second tier of English football.

Liverpool have approached Southampton about Lavia, but this doesn’t necessarily look like an easy deal to strike due to the £50million asking price, which is clearly high for a player of relative youth and inexperience.

Lavia could be an ideal long-term signing for LFC as they continue to build their midfield following the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho soon to follow.
