Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen talks about his role in the transfer of Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted he spoke to Erik ten Hag and Rasmus Hojlund before the club signed the 20-year-old.

Hojlund completed his €75m move to United last week.

The forward called Eriksen an “agent” which contributed to his decision to move to the Theater of Dreams.

The midfielder responded to the nickname of his compatriot.

He told ManUtd.com, “He hasn’t paid me yet, so I don’t know where he got that ‘cop’ from! I haven’t received any payout yet!”

“I’ve already talked to the Rasmus manager and I’ve talked to the Rasmus about the club like that. “I told him all about the club and of course again told him it was his decision to look where he wanted to go and where he could see himself.

“And then, luckily, he was here.

“I hope he brings a few goals, but he will certainly bring a lot [desire]. He is an urgent player with good technique – good runs. Like a real (number) nine. “I hope he can become a very strong player here.

The meeting between Hojlund and Eriksen will be watched closely
The duo will be keen to develop a strong bond in the field. It will help Man United and Denmark.

Hojlund is out with an injury and is expected to be out for a few weeks.

Ten Hag could field Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho as a centre-forward. Eriksen seemed a bit lazy during the preseason. It is hoped that the 31-year-old can return to the form he was in in the first half of last season.

He has Mason Mount fighting for the number eight spot. Ten Hag wants to compete for every position so that his players don’t rest on their laurels.

Mount brings energy to the center of the park. However, Eriksen’s vision opens up the defense and helps United score goals.

Last season, the Danish midfielder several times floated perfectly in the penalty area.

Hopefully Hojlund will take advantage of these opportunities and put the ball into the back of the net.
