Romano warns Manchester United as Arsenal prepares to ‘PUSH’ for a transfer

Arsenal are ready to step up the intensity of their hunt for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, Fabrizio Romano has said.

Timber has been a player in the sights of top Premier League clubs for over a year, with the Dutch international a player Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was keen to bring to Old Trafford last summer.

Ajax had a difficult season, resulting in Timber missing out on an exit tip at the end of the season, leaving the clubs in the red for a transfer.

The attempted takeover of Man Utd continues to hamper Ten Hag’s transfer window plans, with some reports even suggesting the Dutchman won’t have a penny to spend until the matter is resolved.

No signing or finalized deal on the horizon… Romano has hinted that Arsenal could benefit from Timber’s case as Mikel Arteta’s club are ready to move forward with the 22-year-old’s transfer.

Arsenal reportedly made an opening offer for Timber of €35m earlier this week, matching the player’s expected transfer value (xTV) of €38.3m, but was rejected. Ajax expect 58 million euros.

Will Timber join Arsenal soon?
According to Romano, the Gunners are now ready to ‘push’ for a deal in the hours and days ahead, although nothing has yet been agreed with Ajax.

This will worry Arsenal supporters who in the recent past have seen their club only being able to sign contracts for deals to be completed.

Mykhailo Mudryk moved to Chelsea in January and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo will do the same this summer, while their progress regarding West Ham’s Declan Rice has been frustratingly slow.

However, Romano Gooners has assured Timber that he “sees Arsenal as an excellent and attractive project for his future”, suggesting the player has a strong desire to complete a transfer.
