Osimhen transfer hit

Victor Osimhen’s next contract news, leaked by Napoli club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, has dealt a serious blow to Chelsea’s hopes of luring the midfielder to Stamford Bridge.

The striker has been strongly associated with a January transfer window switch to the Premier League. It appears, though, that he will remain in Italy.

Kylian Mbappe boost

The Blues’ chances of getting Kylian Mbappe have increased despite the setback to their attempts to sign Osimhen. During the summer transfer window, the French international made no secret of his intention to depart the Parc des Princes, rejecting new contract offers from the Ligue 1 winners.

According to transfer guru Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool has withdrawn from the competition to sign the striker. Plettenberg wrote on X, stating: “I’ve been informed that Liverpool isn’t pursuing Kylian #Mbappé.”

“At this point, his transfer in the summer of 2024 is not a problem. #LFC.

“#PSG is still completely at ease since they have contractually guaranteed their finances in case he leaves. The most likely destination for him, either the following year or the year after, is still Real Madrid.

Ziyech slams Chelsea

Victor Osimhen's next contract news, leaked by Napoli club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, has dealt a serious blow to Chelsea's hopes of luring

After Todd Boehly took over, former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech criticised the transfer policy at Stamford Bridge. Since the American billionaire took acquired the Blues in May 2022, the team has spent more over £1 billion on new players.

Ziyech was one of several players that left the Blues in the summer after losing their position in the starting lineup. After joining the team in 2020, the Moroccan played in 107 games.

“Three teams with elite players were present,” he stated to Voetbal International. We eventually run out of tolerance. Forty guys on one squad is just too much, and it’s begging for trouble.”

“Pff, Chelsea, we can talk about that for a long time,” Ziyech continued. However, the conclusion is that the outcome was not what we had hoped for. It was a dismal moment for football, filled with coaching changes, nagging from the club management, and an unexpected departure to Paris Saint-Germain.”
