After FSG approve $123m transfer plan Wayne Rooney makes Liverpool prediction

Former Everton and Manchester United striker Rooney predicts that Liverpool will improve after finishing outside the top four of the Premier League for the first time since 2016.

Wayne Rooney, a former striker for Everton and Manchester United, has made a bold prediction about Liverpool’s chances in the upcoming Premier League season.

Liverpool’s disappointing fifth-place finish in the league last season, in Rooney’s opinion, will be forgotten as they become a serious title contender.

Manchester City defeated an Arsenal team that had dominated the English top flight for a good portion of the season to win the Premier League title for the fifth time in six years. In response to their loss, the Gunners have spent over $258 million (£200 million/€230 million) on new players, including Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber.

Romeo Lavia, a starlet for Southampton, is also reportedly a target for Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano. This midfield talent competition occurs as Liverpool contemplates losing Fabinho to a $52 million (£40 million/€46 million) offer from the Saudi Pro League Al-Ittihad.

The Fabinho situation has interfered with Liverpool’s summer transfer plans, but the club has still been able to sign two significant players. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were acquired by the Reds for a combined $123 million (£95 million/€109 million) in a bid to improve on their disappointing fifth-place finish from the previous campaign.

Liverpool’s season-ending position outside of the top four was a first for Jürgen Klopp’s team, but Rooney is confident in their chances moving forward.

The manager of DC United, Rooney, made his remarks prior to managing the MLS All-Stars match against Arsenal, where he also praised the Gunners and their summer acquisitions.

He remarked, “I thought they had an incredible season last year and I thought it was a huge step for Arsenal. “I believe the additions they have made are really good additions to try and push on by competing against Manchester City because they will once again be the favorites to win the Premier League.

“I anticipate Liverpool to improve next year. It will be Chelsea, though. Hopefully Manchester United will also improve. But I believe Arsenal has made some really good acquisitions, and I believe they will compete once more. ”.
