What Arsenal have in store for pre-season this summer as Mikel Arteta prepares for the opening match of the 2023/24 Premier League season against Nottingham Forest

Arsenal’s preparations for the 2023/24 season are complete.
After crashing agonizingly at the last hurdle in the Premier League title race just a few months ago, there is still a lot of work to do for Mikel Arteta to ensure his side are ready to go when they face Nottingham Forest welcome in the Emirates. Stadium on August 12th.
That said, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale and Jorginho all having international engagements over the summer, their returns will be staggered, but it’s already been confirmed that Kai Havertz will tie up £65m to his new teammates.In short.
For the rest of the senior players, the hard work has resumed after a month’s break, for a select few, and here’s a calendar of what Arsenal’s 2023/24 pre-season will look like.
Week commencing Monday 3 July: Arsenal’s first team players return this week and most will return on Monday and Tuesday. Medical checks, strength tests and light ball practice on the pitch took place at the training ground, with William Saliba spotted in a training session for the first time since March.
Week ending Monday July 10: For the second year in a row, Arsenal will host a training camp at Adidas headquarters in Germany, with a game against
Nuremberg scheduled for July 13 (kick-off 6:00 p.m. CET). The two teams met last year, with Gabriel Jesus attracting attention in his first appearance since joining Manchester City.
Thursday July 20: After the tour of Germany, the team then heads to the United States for its pre-season tour and the first of three games will take place in Washington against MLS All Stars XI (kick-off at 8:30 p.m. local time, 1:30 a.m. UK).
Saturday July 22: A few days later, the Gunners meet Premier League rivals Manchester United in New York (kick-off 5:00 p.m. local, 10:00 p.m. UK). Wednesday July 22: The trip to the United States concludes with a match against La Liga champions Barcelona in Los Angeles (kick-off to be confirmed).
Wednesday August 2: Arsenal’s plans have changed slightly for the first week of August as football.london have learned that they had originally planned to play a friendly in Europe this weekend, but that is no longer the case. However, there will be another one-day Emirates Cup tournament, which will be played against Monaco (kick-off 18:00 CET).
Sunday August 5: Due to their second place finish in the Premier League and Manchester United’s defeat in the FA Cup final, the Gunners’ first competitive game of the new season will of course be against Manchester City at the Community Shield Stadium in Wembley (kick-off 4:00 p.m.).
