“College Football Expert Forecasts Alabama to Secure Five-Star Cornerback”

Jorden Edmonds

In his first season at Tuscaloosa, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer surpassed expectations in recruiting. As reported by On3, the Tide secured the No. 3 recruiting class, featuring five-star quarterback Keelon Russell.

Alabama didn’t stop at quarterback, also adding an elite prospect in five-star cornerback Dijon Lee. DeBoer and his team are working to replicate that success by pursuing five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds, who On3’s Chad Simmons forecasts will commit to the Tide.

Edmonds is ranked as the No. 17 player nationally and the No. 2 cornerback in the 2026 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. The defensive back from Marietta, Georgia, has an official visit to Alabama set for June 20, along with official visits to Georgia and Tennessee already confirmed.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 175 pounds, Edmonds played on both sides of the ball during his junior year. He caught 32 passes for 684 yards and four touchdowns, while also tallying 30 tackles.

Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 13 in the cycle, but with only three commitments, the Tide has significant potential for improvement. The early commitments include four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson, four-star EDGE Jamarion Matthews, and four-star interior offensive lineman Chris Booker.

Gibson is ranked as the No. 62 player nationally and the No. 10 cornerback, while Matthews is ranked No. 203 overall and No. 24 among EDGE prospects. Booker, another Georgia native, is rated as the No. 322 player in the country and No. 28 at his position.
