Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has a six-word message for his critics after a rocky start to the season.
With high expectations following a substantial four-year contract extension worth over $240 million, Prescott finds himself under pressure as the Cowboys sit at 3-4 ahead of their Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons. This is not the performance that Prescott or the team desires.
After Thursday’s practice, Prescott addressed the media about his mindset during this challenging season.
Dak Prescott, Quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Addresses His Doubters
In a press conference on October 31, he expressed unwavering confidence, stating, “You’re never gonna knock my confidence,” emphasizing his determination despite any doubts.
He told reporters, using the forceful six-word phrase, “You’re never gonna knock my confidence,” to characterise his state of mind in spite of any sceptics or detractors.
He acknowledged the need to “get out of the pocket” and “make other plays happen.” Regarding the necessity to run the ball more, Prescott explained, “When you’re weighing that risk — it’s when I’ve got the ball in my hands, it’s not just about that play. It’s about the team, the game, the momentum of it, and I’ve just got to be better.”
Prescott reflected on his running, noting, “I know I haven’t been running… it just happens from within the pocket in the game. I think that’s to my point is the risk versus reward. I’m pulling some of these things down, being better in the pocket and then getting out and making something happen.”
In a recent analysis, NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks pointed fingers at someone other than Prescott for the team’s struggles: owner and general manager Jerry Jones.
In a November 1 feature, Brooks discussed the criticism directed at Prescott, arguing it’s not entirely deserved. “While the 2023 MVP runner-up deserves flak for some errant tosses and poor decisions, the Cowboys just did not provide Prescott with a supporting cast that would enable him to flourish from the pocket this season,” he stated. “With an aging backfield and a pass-catching group that seriously lacks juice beyond WR1 CeeDee Lamb, Dallas’ offense is a flawed unit right now. Critics are out of line in placing all of the blame for this team’s shortcomings on Dak.”
Brooks added, “Owner/general manager Jerry Jones should take more heat for failing to build a roster that properly supports a highly accomplished quarterback who should be squarely in his prime.” He further questioned, “Given the lack of talent around Prescott, how can we expect the 31-year-old to elevate a pedestrian offense in a pass-happy league?”
Interesting post made here. One thing I’d like to say is the fact most professional domains consider the Bachelor Degree like thejust like the entry level standard for an online diploma. Though Associate College diplomas are a great way to get started on, completing ones Bachelors opens many entrances to various jobs, there are numerous on-line Bachelor Course Programs available from institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another concern is that many brick and mortar institutions give Online variants of their qualifications but usually for a drastically higher payment than the organizations that specialize in online diploma programs.
