Good evening, sports fans! A great opportunity for Detroit Lions enthusiasts is currently available, thanks to the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA). They’re hosting a ticket giveaway for the Lions’ first playoff game, and it’s as simple as supporting local businesses.
Here’s how you can get in on the action: any purchase made at participating downtown Windsor businesses qualifies you to enter. All you need to do is save your receipt, no matter how much you spend, and head over to the DWBIA website. From there, you can upload a photo of your receipt for a chance to win those coveted tickets.
This isn’t the first time the DWBIA has organized a successful giveaway. Last winter, they held the SwiftMas raffle, offering tickets to see Taylor Swift in Toronto, which was a huge hit. Now, they’re offering a chance to watch the Lions’ playoff game live.
Chris MacLeod, Chair of the DWBIA, shared how simple it is to enter: “You save your receipt, and then you go to our website and fill out a form at shopdowntown.ca. For every purchase you make downtown, you get an entry, and we’ll be drawing for a set of Lions tickets.”
But don’t wait too long! This contest closes Wednesday, and MacLeod explains, “We had to pull this together quickly when we learned the Lions would definitely be in the playoffs. It’s a bit of a compressed timeline, but we’re excited about the prize and hope it’ll encourage people to shop downtown.”
You can enter for every purchase you make at any downtown Windsor restaurant, bar, convenience store, or specialty merchant. And if you’re unsure whether a business is part of the DWBIA, still go ahead and submit your receipt. They’ll review all entries.
There’s no limit to how many receipts you can enter, so the more you shop, the better your chances! The contest will remain open until January 15 at 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, in case you missed it, the Detroit Lions had an impressive finish to their NFL regular season, securing a 15-2 record and earning the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. They’ll take the field in the Divisional Round on January 18 or 19 at Ford Field in Detroit.
So, if you’re a Lions fan, don’t miss your chance to grab those tickets and support local businesses!
