The Detroit Lions, with a 12-2 record, saw their 11-game win streak end in Week 15 after a 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills at Ford Field.
With three regular-season games remaining, the Lions remain the No. 1 seed in the NFC, aiming for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Despite facing adversity, including an NFL-high 21 players on injured reserve, the Lions continue to push forward. The list of injured players seems to grow each week, a challenge with the playoffs fast approaching.
The Lions’ offense remains potent, but they will be without running back David Montgomery, who suffered an MCL injury. Though there is a slim chance he could return, the Lions will need to adjust without him, likely relying more on their passing game. They might also take a risk on a recently released Pro Bowl wide receiver.

NFL News: Diontae Johnson Waived by Baltimore Ravens
Diontae Johnson was waived by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday after a short stint with the team. Baltimore had traded a 2025 fifth-round pick to Carolina on October 29 to acquire Johnson and a 2025 sixth-round pick.
However, things quickly deteriorated in Baltimore. Johnson played just 39 snaps and made one catch for six yards. He was even suspended for one game after refusing to play in the Week 13 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
While his time with the Ravens was unsuccessful, it doesn’t mean the Lions wouldn’t be a better fit. Detroit has a strong foundation, and they could help Johnson reach his potential.
In seven games with the Panthers this season, Johnson recorded 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns. Over 89 career games, the Toledo alum has amassed 422 receptions for 4,726 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Having proven his ability as a playmaker, Johnson could be a worthwhile gamble for the Lions through the waiver wire.
