Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already ‘identified’ a £60m replacement for Mo Salah.

Liverpool may have to replace Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian striker joins Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly already identified Federico Chiesa as a replacement for Mohamed Salah in the event of a surprise departure from Anfield. Salah is heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but it remains to be seen whether the Reds will accept a deal so late in the transfer window.

Al-Ittihad is desperate to sign a mega-deal. He would have been “tempted” by the riches of the Saudi Pro League. It is claimed that the Egyptian has been offered a whopping £191m deal which would make him the highest paid player in the world. Liverpool are unlikely to sell at this stage of the sale period but have been reported to still be looking for alternatives. The Juventus striker Chiesa is regularly linked up at Anfield and would be a natural replacement for Salah.

Apparently Klopp would like to see the Italy international replace Salah should he leave. However, Juventus are likely to ask around £60m at this stage.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already 'identified' a £60m replacement for Mo Salah.
This was reported by the paper edition of TuttoSport, according to which Klopp is already looking for alternatives to Salah if the worst were to happen before next Friday’s market deadline. Chiesa’s excellent start to the Serie A season – including a goal against Udinese on Sunday – would have put him in Liverpool’s sights.

However, Klopp hopes Salah will stay after the transfer window ends. He insisted that Liverpool would reject any approach from Saudi Arabia or anywhere else.

“It’s difficult to talk about media reports because from our point of view there is nothing to say. ‘Mo is a Liverpool player, he is indispensable,’ the German said on Friday. “There is nothing. If it was, the answer would be no.”

Salah signed a two-year contract extension last summer which will see him stay at Liverpool until 2025. One of his representatives, Ramy Abass Issa, had insisted earlier this summer that the deal wouldn’t have been signed had there been any chance of Salah leaving.

Responding to speculation, he tweeted: “If we had considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains loyal to LFC.

Chiesa would be a great replacement for Salah. The 25-year-old, who shone for Italy at Euro 2020, overcame a horrific knee injury and scored 23 goals in 95 appearances for Juventus.
