Podcaster Donald De La Haye, a former professional kicker, shared a funny story from Terrion Arnold on Thursday.
Jayden Daniels has had an impressive rookie season, but the highlight came last weekend when he led the Washington Commanders to an unexpected victory over the Detroit Lions.
Daniels threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns in the 45–31 win, also rushing for 51 yards. He even added a playful touch during a jersey swap with fellow rookie, Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold.
On a podcast released Thursday, De La Haye, who is friends with Arnold, shared that Daniels left a humorous message on Arnold’s jersey.
“I’m cool with Terrion Arnold. He’s a DB for the Lions. He told me he swapped jerseys with Jayden Daniels after the game, and on the bottom of the jersey he wrote, ‘Cancun on three, 1-2-3.'”

That’s some top-tier trash talk. Daniels and Arnold seem to have a strong bond after competing in the SEC—Daniels as the Heisman-winning quarterback at LSU, and Arnold as a standout defensive back at Alabama.
During the game, Daniels also took a moment to pray with Arnold after Lions defensive back Amik Robertson suffered a broken arm.

“I thought it was kind of cool, when I was praying over [Robertson], Jayden came and we prayed over him together,” Arnold said after the game. “That’s one of those things where it’s bigger than football.”

Reports: Patriots hire Terrell Williams from Lions as defensive coordinator
Williams served as the Lions’ defensive line coach during the 2024 season.
Detroit Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams is reportedly set to take on the role of defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots.
Williams previously worked under Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, spending six years on Vrabel’s staff with the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023 before joining the Lions. He then served as the defensive line coach for the Detroit Lions during the 2024 season.
The Lions are facing significant staffing changes for next season, as the team is also set to lose both of its coordinators. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has been hired as the new head coach of the Chicago Bears, while defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn will become the head coach of the New York Jets, according to reports.
On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell shared his expectation that the team would lose both coordinators to head coaching positions.
